Roamy J. Rice passed away peacefully on September 11, 2017 at Dorina's Adult Foster Care in Gresham, Oregon. She was 92. Roamy J. Rice was born in Hotchkiss, Colorado, the daughter of Lawrence Pitt and Bessie O. Ellsworth. Roamy graduated from Lander Valley High School in 1942. After graduation she married Ray F. Campbell. They moved to Texas in 1943. Ray F. Campbell and Roamy started a family. She was blessed with 3 children, Connie R. Smith, Bennie M. Campbell and Roamy J. Argue. Roamy was also blessed to have 8 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
After Ray's death in 1971 Roamy moved to Keizer, Oregon where she met and married Bert B. Rice.
Roamy was preceded in death by Connie R. Smith in 1990 and Bert B. Rice in 1999.
Roamy J. Rice had a passion to work hard and she didn't retire until she was 79 years old. Her favorite job was working at Fairview Training Center in Salem, OR. She received many good service awards while working there. Roamy had a love for her family and friends that was amazing. She would light up a room with just a smile. Roamy was a well-loved woman, sister, daughter, mom, aunt, cousin, granny and a favorite GG. Our dad called her Roamy. We called her mom. Her friends called her Ronnie, and Grandbabies called her GG. Mom, you lived a good long life and you will be missed forever. Rest sweet woman. You earned the rest.
A private service will be held. Interment will be at Belcrest Memorial Park in Salem, Oregon.
