Jacqueline Hamburg died on March 26, 2015 in Troutdale, Oregon at the age of 70. She was born on October 19, 1944 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin to Ralph and Ruth (Thurston) Ensign. She moved to Oregon as a young child where she was a long time resident of Troutdale.
Jackie graduated from Reynolds High School in 1962. After marrying her husband Jim in December of 1965, she spent most of her time as a homemaker. However, for more than 30 years she worked on the Multnomah County voter election board, serving as chair of her local precinct. She volunteered at Sweetbriar Elementary School for over 15 years. Since childhood, Jackie was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she taught preschool as a volunteer for several years.
Jackie enjoyed attending, and rarely missed, her grandchildren's sports, music, and taekwondo events. She loved to bake and craft. She held a passion for crocheting and quilting which she enjoyed while volunteering at the Gresham Senior Center. She gave her time and talents selflessly.
Jackie is survived by her loving husband, James; sons, David (Dana) and Christopher (Melissa); siblings, Mike (Glenda) and Scott Ensign, Susan (Dan) Doughty, Arlene Clark, and Carole Hayes; and four grandchildren, Dalton, Danner, Garin, and Ellasen, along with many nieces and nephews. Jackie was a very caring person who doted on her family. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
Funeral service will be on Monday, March 30, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church located at 507 W. Powell Blvd. in Gresham with a reception to immediately follow. A viewing will begin at 3:00 pm. Burial will be at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland. Donations may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice in her name.
